Our first big project was building a platform and installing this Wall Tent from the nice folks at https://www.walltentshop.com/. We LOVE how it turned out.
We completed a Bee Keeping 101 class in January and picked up our first 2 nucs at the end of April, 2022. The bees seem to be thriving in their new home.
After many rabbit holes researching on the internet, we came across a way to reduce smoke at your basic campfire – yes please! And so we build a Dakota Fire Pit. Game Changer.
We were extremely fortunate to be able to purchase the 2 bedroom farmhouse right next door to the original land we bought. We are slowly fixing it up but it is so nice to have the house as a home base.
We recently added a rain fly to the main Wall Tent with an extended porch area. This will protect the tent long term and creates more shade on the deck.
We got a brand new Kubota L2501DT Tractor with a front loader, grapple attachment, bush hog and land grader. YeeHaw!!!
We have long desired to convert an old school bus into a living/sleeping structure for the farm. Follow along on this adventure as we progress – starting Fall 2021.
Update Dec 2021 : Seats are out and floor insulation/installation is next 🙂
We built a rain shelter for the tractor in the trees
Swinging an axe is hard!!!! So we got this handy contraption from Harbor Freight and now I can split wood with ease.
The main benefit of raising guinea fowl is that they eat TICKS! So we decided to give it a try and built ourselves a coop in the woods.
Update Dec 2021: One lone guinea has survived and has happily taken up roost living alongside our neighbor’s small horse near the creek! We are pleased it found a home there and we will try our hand again next spring.
